An International Women’s Day Spotlight
During the month of March, women all over the world are celebrated. In North America, Women’s History Month honors the historical achievements of women. And on March 8, International Women’s Day (IWD) marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. And yet with such significant global efforts to break the glass ceiling, it seems as though barriers in the investor relations—and broader capital markets industry remain intact for women.
Research shows that when it comes to growing a career in investor relations, women are at a disadvantage. In fact, data from IR Magazine’s Women in IR 2022 report shows that “more than twice as many men are working as heads of IR in North America as there are women.” And should a woman become an IR leader, it’s expected that she will earn less than a man would in a similar role.
That’s why to celebrate IWD, we’ve chosen to put the spotlight on 15 women who have excelled in their industry through hard work, determination, and outstanding performance. They’re helping to redefine what it means to be a woman in capital markets, and we’re proud to share their accomplishments with you.
